A young gentleman decided he wanted to become president of the United States, after his business attempt failed in 1831. He went for it, and ran for the Illinois State Legislature the next year and lost. In 1833, his second business failed and in 1836 he suffered from a nervous breakdown. He was defeated again as House Speaker in 1838, for Congress in 1843 and lost again in 1848, despite winning a few years earlier. His failures in politics continued throughout the 1850s, until in 1860 Abraham Lincoln was finally elected President of the United States.
How inspired are you right now! If Ab can get the job of his dreams, then so can you, and here’s how:
Recognise your fears
Conquering your fears is a part of success. As soon as you learn how to do this you will find your life and job goals are achieved. Don’t ignore your fears, use them to make you stronger.
Don’t be afraid of being emotional
The most successful and admirable people have a big heart and lots to offer. Don’t lose your emotional side, use your emotional side.
Take charge of your life
Take responsibility and remember that you are the only one that can get you a job. If you are unhappy in your job right now, then it is up to you to change that and make yourself happier.
Improve your overall quality of life and you will succeed. If you are unhappy about your house or your car or your neighbours, don’t just accept it. Change the things that make you unhappy and the rest will follow course.
Have a strong desire to succeed. It’s cliché, but if you really want it you can get it. But you have to really want it. You have to be committed to your dream and willing to never give up, no matter how hard it might get.
Don’t let yourself down, stay in control and disciplined and you will get where you want to be. It has always been and always will be, the foundation for success.
